Heres an close up of the same drawing. I use an Edding 0.01 Profi Pen and im pretty stubborn about using anything else..maybe i should try and get some free pens.. Someone told me the nib is one tenth the size of a biro, its hard to imagine so i keep that quiet. Ill post some more up close shots aswell as the finished piece.
So i finally decide to put some of my work up to show! This was work i did a while back which ill include with others ive had stashed away. This is available as a Limited Edition,Pen and Ink print, its A0 in size, and packed with hidden gems to keep you up at night Contact me if you want one and ill sort get P&P costs
My practice is concerned with obsessional mark making, with issues of time, the fight to cover or not to cover the entire working surface and the permanence/impermanence of the image.
I am investigating the thought that we leave a residue everywhere we go, in our actions/inactions and in our thoughts. This thought process is not always evident in the pictures I draw but is a necessity in creating them.
I rigidly set aside uninterrupted 10 hourly drawing sessions throughout the night in a compulsive attempt to cover every part of the surface.
This compulsion has drawn comparisons with Horror Vacui- an obsession to completely cover and remove any “voids” from the surface upon which I draw. I find my later works challenging this obsession, almost daring myself to leave empty spaces and taunting me to complete them throughout the night.
